Couch to 5k!

Started W1D1 today - struggled a bit towards the end but it was good, I kept a half decent pace up. I was dripping with sweat by the end though. Next time, I might try and schedule it so it’s not on a teaching day though - my legs were like lead during my Zumba class!

Can’t wait to get my HRM so I can track my progress.

Also - Day 7 of 30DS done, getting a little bit better every day. Level 2 is going to hurt, I can tell!

Day 6 of 30DS

Well, it’s getting a little easier. Am now able to do one full set of push ups on my toes, the second set was half and half. Maybe I’ll be able to do both sets on toes in a couple of days! 

Gym today was pretty busy, so limited it to a beasting on the elliptical for 40 minutes.  A swim at lunchtime just finished it off nicely :)

Fitocracy keeps wiping my workouts, its doing my head in trying to remember what I did earlier lol. 

And a wee prezzie to myself- a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor in pink and purple :)

Long time no see

Feels like ages since I last posted. Apologies! It’s been crazy. 

Finally finished Chalean Extreme and decided to start Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred on Tuesday, so I’m up to day 4 (Sat and Sun are rest days). I quite like it, and I’m dripping with sweat at the end, but I feel like I’m only just getting going and it’s all over. Maybe I need to tag something else onto the end, like CLX Extreme Abs or one of the Bodyrock.tv workouts. Or maybe try a longer workout like Insanity?

After two good weeks of weight loss, stalling again, no loss this week. Given that my diet hasn’t been too awesome, I’m not too surprised. I’m pleased that its going well overall and I’m looking at the bigger picture. 

Redid ‘Grace’, the crossfit workout yesterday with two of the instructors at the gym yesterday, and knocked 9 seconds off last weeks time, then proceeded to do a set of  20, then 10. Still only 20kg but I’m going to try and up the weight next time we do it. Feeling a bit stiff and sore today!

Oh, and weather today was glorious, I am sunburnt to a crisp. Tut tut. Where was my factor 30?

Considering next week whether to start Couch to 5km. I’m fed up of not being able to join in events because I can’t run the length of myself.

Damn, I’ll be quite sad when this finishes. I’ve grown quite attached to Chalene and her little posse of super ripped people. 

Next challenge - I’m considering doing the 30 Day Shred for, well, 30 days! And then restarting CLX but doing the Turbofire hybrid. Any feedback from people who have tried this? Is it worth me shelling out the bucks? I love Chalene and think she’s really motivating. 

Shifted down into another weight bracket and therefore another daily calorie total. I keep forgetting and eating up to my previous limit. This is going to be quite tough I think. 

Need to remember and get some before/after pics done!

Finally shifted 2.5lb! Bad news is that this drops me into a lower weight category which means less food :(

Over the last few months my dash has flooded with posts of people declaring their love for Jillian Michaels, Jamie Eason, Zuzana etc. One woman who I don’t think gets enough appreciation is Chalene Johnson, who I have to thank for my introduction into the world of weight lifting.

Damn, it’s been so long…

I need to start daily posting again and being accountable.

Had a good week so far at least. I’ve done the first two days of the Lean Circuit (I’m now into week 3) so I’m nearly done. 12 weeks! I feel so proud. I just wish I’d taken before and after pics. 

I now need something new to entertain me - I’m considering Turbofire, Kettlercise or the 30 Day Shred. Any comments on these are gratefully received! I love Chalene so I may fork out for Turbo Fire. 

Got back into my swimming today,might be my imagination but 30 lengths seemed easier after a break. Maybe it’s the chest and back training? However, logged all my stuff onto Fitocracy this morning and now I can’t see it in the tracking tab. I know I did it because I remember changing some of the weights I used. 

Totally loving Syntha 6 too, it’s worth getting up for almost. Cookies and Creme? That’s a dessert!

Oh my word. Started Chalean Extreme Lean Circuit 1 on Monday. My arms are just dead. How can this be harder than Push month? I feel like someone’s kicked my shoulders black and blue. Can’t wait to see what I’m like by the end of the month. 

I have lost the grand total of 1.5lb during Push month. I could be optimistic and say it is muscle gain, but I’m thinking that given my appalling eating habits this month that it’s 100% diet related. Must do better. 

Started using a different protein powder this month - Optimum Nutrition’s Double Rich chocolate. It’s OK, tastes better than Maximuscle. I have a tub of BSN Syntha-6 on the way too, Cookies and Cream flavour. The reviews on Amazon make it sound like fairies and rainbows - it better be awesome!

I haven’t posted for a few weeks - life just gets in the way. This is a reboot - onwards and downwards again! 

Whoops

Just realised that I haven’t posted all week - my bad. It’s been an OK week actually - missed Monday’s workout in the morning as I had to put my car in to be serviced, but as I was walking like John Wayne after my BodyPump/Combat ass kicking it was probably a good thing. 

Loving loving loving Push Circuits this month, I’m finished week 3, last week next week - it’s gone so quickly! I’m on holiday from Wednesday this week with no access to weights, so I’m going to have to do it three days in a row - I know, not recommended but I’m not skipping a week. That’s how I bombed out last time. 

Been a bit lax on the old cardio front too, other than teaching my classes. I did go on a long walk with the BF yesterday - an hour and a half in woodland trails - we reckon we covered about 4 miles. 

Well, weigh in tomorrow, hoping I’m going to bust into another stone bracket - fingers crossed for me!
